A first look inside Audi’s Newest Flagship: the Q9

Audi Corporate just gave us an exclusive first look at the interior of their highly anticipated, upcoming flagship full-size SUV: the all-new Audi Q9. Scheduled for its official world premiere of July 28th, the all-new Q9 promises to to be THE ultra-premium mobile sanctuary designed for long family journeys and high-end business travel.

Instead of boring you with endless dimension spreadsheets, let’s talk about the top four mind-blowing features of the Audi Q9:

1. Doors that read your mind

2. “Magical” Liquid Crystal Sunroof

3. First-Class Seating Flexibility, can be optioned for 6 or 7 seats

4. 4D Sound Tech. Music you can physically feel

Alright, we have to talk about the doors. Get this! For the first time in an Audi, all doors open electrically at the push of a button.

Even better? Once you get inside, the Audi Q9 driver’s door closes by itself the moment you buckle your seatbelt or tap on the brake pedal.

And that’s not the only magical piece of tech, the Audi Q9’s massive sunroof uses a Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) technology which allows for the glass to go from perfectly transparent to darkened glare protection at the touch of a button.

When you park your Audi Q9, it automatically turns the sunroof entirely opaque to shield the inside from nosy neighbors.

Now, as for the seating, there are three rows which can accommodate up to seven passengers. However if optioned into the six-seater configuration, you get a 2nd row equipped with dual electric adjustable individual captain’s chairs, providing pure business-class luxury right there.

And yeah, that’s no typo above. 4D Sound technology is the real showstopper using custom actuators built directly into the front sports seats so you can physically feel the rhythm of the music in your chest.

PLUS, an updated Bang & Olufsen premium audio system with personal headrest speakers allow you to focus on the drive ahead while you enjoy some bumpin’ tunes.

Now I can’t actually show you pictures of “sounds you can feel” so you will just have to take my word for it or wait until the Audi Q9 gets officially unveiled and launched to experience that 4D Sound tech for yourself. I know I want to try it out.

Audi Leads the Luxury Segment in Top Safety Pick+

When you’re shopping for a premium vehicle, luxury is usually defined by things like fine Nappa leather, ambient lighting, and massive touchscreens. But let’s be real—the ultimate luxury is knowing your vehicle is engineered to survive the daily chaos of the I-4 corridor.

The safety scientists over at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) just released their official standings, and the results are a total flex: Audi has officially earned more 2026 TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards than any other luxury brand on the market.

To put that in perspective, the IIHS explicitly redesigned their testing criteria this year to be brutally difficult—moving the goalposts just to see who would trip. 

Audi did not hesitate with six different models taking home the absolute highest honor.

• 2026 Audi A5

• 2026 Audi Q5 and Q5 Sportback

• 2027 Audi Q6 e-tron and Q6 Sportback e-tron

• 2027 Audi A6 Sportback e-tron

Earning a “Plus” designation used to mean checking a few boxes but in 2026 it means surviving an automotive gauntlet. The IIHS completely overhauled its frontal crash testing to heavily penalize vehicles that don’t protect the rear-seat passengers.

And guess what? Audi passed with “Good” Ratings across the board!
